Someone commented today that Doug described working in AI safety as “it’s like working on the Manhattan Project.” I thought it was a good way of capturing how things are going and likely not far off from the truth. Maybe we should’ve taken Aschenbrenner’s idea of a “Manhattan Project for AGI” more seriously after all. I guess we’ll wait and see what Mythos is all about.
